FAQ

  • What is the education style like?

    -We strive to make education accessible to any level of stylist - from brand new to seasoned vet. Each video is extremely detailed but to the point. Our goal is to give you every piece of information you need without making it needlessly complicated.

  • If I subscribe right now will I have access to all the videos?
    - Right now the subscription is in its infancy. Think of it like a drip course. You don't access everything all at once but rather at a slower, more consistent rate. Not every series will have content on Launch Day or directly after, but every series will be updated monthly at a minimum, with some getting updated more frequently (weekly or bi-weekly).

  • How long will the videos be?

    - Video length will vary but our goal is to keep videos between 5 - 120 minutes. Studies show shorter learning bursts help you conceptualize and retain information better.

  • What method will you be teaching?

    - We do not teach a particular method. Here at MTAM we believe in fully customizing your installs based on your clients unique scalp health, scalp elasticity, head shape, growth patterns, lifestyle and home care abilities. We want to teach you the WHY instead of the WHAT so that you can learn how to discern what's best for your clients.

  • Will you teach stitching? 

    - Yes, every part of the extension service will be touched on at some point. Every aspect will not be available immediately though (remember it's like a drip course).

  • I've invested in online education before and didn't love it - it was hard to see what the Educators were doing and there wasn't a lot of explanation or detail to the content. How will yours be different?

    - MTAM is serious about video quality - we want you to feel like you're in the room with us. And no education will ever be just "fluff'. We want you learning and growing with this service and that requires a high standard of quality on our part. We've invested in the latest videography technology ourselves (instead of relying on outsourced camera crews with no hair industry experience) so that we can bring you high quality video consistently. Real hairdressers are manning the cams and getting the best shots - we even have multiple macro lenses for MEGA up-close shots. As for the actual education, we won't ever waste your time. We are here to raise the bar in the education space, not skate by with low quality content. Lastly we are different because we are ever-evolving. With no ties to a set "method" we are constantly looking for ways to improve and out-do what we've done before. You'll never worry about what we teach becoming obsolete because we thrive with innovation and change.

  • Can I cancel my monthly subscription anytime?

    - Yes, you can cancel anytime. We don't think you'll want to though :)

  • I'm from a different Country and the cost of your subscription is much higher in my currency, because of that I can't afford it - are there any options to help me?

    - We are so glad you asked! We know that not everyone lives in the US and that currency exchange rates can be a pain. Please reach out to support@morethanamethod.com with the subject line "International Student" so that we can discuss your unique situation and try to help.

  • I don't speak English, can I still learn from you?

    - Unfortunately we don't offer translation capabilities for the videos themselves. However - if you are very interested we may be able get specific videos translated for you at an additional cost. If we have enough interest from multiple potential subscribers we may even be able to offer a group rate for you to pool together for a specific language. Please reach out to support@morethanamethod.com with the subject line "Translation Request" to speak to us about your options. If you are someone who knows multiple languages including English and are interested in helping translate videos in exchange for access to content please reach out to us at support@morethanamethod.com with the subject line "Translation Support".

  • How long will I have to watch the videos? Do they disappear after a certain timeframe?

    - All content will be available for at least 1 month. Most will stay in the subscription for 3 months or longer. Lives will be available to those subscribing to the Master plan for a month after so that you can watch according to your schedule. 

  • Can I purchase single videos?

    • Some content will be available for one-time purchase but not all. Mostly longer videos and demos will have the option.

  • Can I rent single videos?

    - Some content will be available for rent but not all. Mostly longer videos and demos will have the option.

  • Can I request content/give ideas?

    - Ideas are always welcome in your Community forum but requests are only available to those on the highest subscription tier: More Than A Master.

  • What's the Community?

    - The Community forum is similar to a Facebook feed - each subscription has access to a dedicated community forum for that subscription. You can post questions, talk about the educational content you've watched, engage with fellow members and network - really any sort of discussion is game as long as it stays friendly and supportive.   • Whats the difference between the monthly and yearly plans?

    - There is no difference in content - just a lower total investment as a thank you from us should you choose the yearly plan.

  • Who will be on the Guest Artist Interviews?

    - Mainly fellow extension and color educators but we also will have business educators, other industry professionals and experts with backgrounds completely outside of hair.

  • Can my whole salon sign up under one plan?

    - No you can't share your plan with anyone. However we do offer discounted group rates for salon owners. If you are interested in this option please reach out to support@morethanamethod.com with the subject line "Salon Group Rate" for more information. Please note that group rates are only available if you have a group of 4 or more.

  • Can me and my friends tag up together for a group rate?

     - Sure! If you and a group of like-minded stylists want to invest in to our platform together we would be happy to speak to you about your options. Please reach out to support@morethanamethod.com with the subject line "Friend Group Rate" for more information. Please note that group rates are only available if you have a group of 4 or more.

  • The videos aren't loading/taking forever to load, whats going on?

    - Video streaming quality is dependent on your internet connection and device capabilities. Please check to be sure you are on high speed WIFI and that your device isn't overloaded (close out of your excess open tabs in your browser or apps you aren't using currently).

  • How come you haven't updated __________ series this week?

    - Each series is updated monthly at a minimum, no series is guaranteed to update weekly. We always want to deliver quality education and that process takes time to get it right.

  • I'm a More Than A Master subscriber but I can't make the Lives because of scheduling conflicts, will I be able to watch them back?

    - Yes! All Lives will be saved for playback for at least 1 month.
