K-Tip Install Intensive
A 2 day, in-person intensive for stylists ready to master
the skill of installing k-tips and customizing factory bonds.
The difference between a set that lasts and one that causes damage often comes down to the details that don't make it into most classes.
This class is two full days of hands-on education, built around every detail and nuance that actually makes the difference between a safe, beautiful, long-lasting set and one that compromises your client's hair. You'll get an enormous amount of reps in, which is the only real way to build the kind of confidence you need to take on clients behind the chair and know what you're doing.
We'll also spend time on something most install classes skip entirely: customizing factory-made bonds. It's a smaller part of the class (roughly 20–30%) but it changes everything about what's possible for your clients.

Why Factory Bonds Are Limiting You
Most stylists who offer k-tips are working with factory-made bonds, and most factory bonds are too dense and too heavy for the majority of clients to wear safely. That's just the reality of a one-size-fits-all product being applied to people with very different hair.
The obvious workaround is to cut them down, and a lot of stylists do that. The problem is that cutting factory bonds typically tanks retention. Clients end up with bonds that don't last, and you end up troubleshooting something that was never going to work in the first place.
What we'll teach you instead is how to actually customize them — adjusting density so that high-risk clients can wear bonds safely, hand-mixing for a perfect blend, creating strips, and doing all of it in a way that still gets your client 3+ months of wear without sacrificing the health of their natural hair. These are the skills that open up a whole different level of what you can offer.

Is this class beginner-friendly?
You don't need to have done k-tips before, but you do need to be ready to move quickly and get your hands in hair — we cover a lot of ground over two days! If you're not sure whether you're at the right level, reach out before you register and we'll help you figure it out.
What's the split between installation and bond customization?
Installation is the main focus — roughly 70–80% of the class time. The remaining 20–30% covers how to customize factory bonds so you're not limited to working with what's in the kit. Both parts feed into each other, so by the end of the two days you'll have a really clear picture of the full process. You can also take all of the bond-making skills and apply it to working with raw hair!
Why does bond customization matter if I'm already doing installs?
Because factory bonds are built for the average client, and many of your clients aren't "average". The density is too high for a lot of people to wear safely, and simply cutting the bonds down to fix that usually kills retention. What we'll teach you is how to actually customize them — adjusting density, mixing colors, and still getting three months of wear. It's the difference between having one tool and having a whole kit.
I've heard that customizing bonds hurts retention. Is that true?
It can be, if it's done wrong. Cutting factory bonds down is the common shortcut and yes, that can cause problems. What we teach is a different approach — one that maintains retention while still giving you the flexibility to create low-density bonds for clients who need them.
Will I leave feeling ready to actually do this on clients?
We build in an enormous amount of reps over the two days specifically so that you leave with muscle memory, not just information. There's a big difference between understanding a technique and being able to execute it confidently behind the chair, and we're focused on the latter.
However - you MUST immediately put what you learn in class in to practice. Without consistent practice you will learn the skills you worked so hard to gain in class!
When do I get access to the MTAM platform?
Right away — as soon as you register. We want you using it before you even walk through the door so you can come in with context and get even more out of the two days.
If you're a current member you'll get an additional 6 months added to your current subscription.
How is this different from watching videos online?
Hands. In. Hair.
You can watch installing a hundred times and still feel lost without hand-on-help.
Being in the room means you can ask questions in the moment, get eyes on your technique as it's happening, and troubleshoot in real time.
I've invested in education before and felt burned. Why is this different?
We hear this a lot, and it's a fair thing to bring up.
We have created a class style and structure that meets you where you're at, and we stick with you (1-1) until things click. No one is left behind at our classes, no question is frowned down on, and no detail is left out
You'll have four educators in the room who are genuinely invested in you walking out of there feeling capable.
Come with your questions. We want them!
